Our team had the opportunity to participate in the Together at the Table Summit in Waco, TX, hosted by the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty. The summit brings together many of the leading experts on food security for several days of collaboration and information sharing.
Coalition members from our team were very involved in the various panels and sessions, including project co-leads Gema Alvarado-Guerrero and Molly Lanke. Gema joined a discussion on advice for creating community coalitions similar to our own, while Molly presented ‘The Value, Importance, and Power of Storytelling” panel, along with partners Garrett Law and Ethan Watters from Attention Span. The storytelling panel used the Mower County Community Assessment report as a framework for demonstrating why storytelling is so crucial to advancing efforts to end hunger.
