Via MN Department of Human Services

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Minnesota received a waiver from the federal government to temporarily provide extra Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits known as Emergency SNAP, or E-SNAP. Federal officials declared that the COVID Emergency SNAP allotments will end after February 2023.

The Department of Human Services has developed messaging to help raise awareness of this important change. The messaging is organized into long-form, medium-form and short-form and is available in nine languages (aside from flyer): English, Dari, Hmong, Karen, Korean, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Ukrainian. Please use the messaging included in this memo to help spread the message and help SNAP recipients prepare for the end of Emergency SNAP.

Please reach out to eaesd.communications.dhs@state.mn.us with any questions or requests.
